Dr. Fred Kight grew up in south central Georgia. He earned a B.A. degree in theatre from LaGrange College during which he performed in college productions, as well as plays at Callaway Gardens and The Atlanta Children’s Theatre. After that adventure, he worked on the family farm, and in 1977 entered Georgia Southwestern College with the intent of going to veterinary school. Dr Kight was accepted to veterinary school in 1979, but elected to go to medical school at MCG. He finished medical school in 1983, and did an internship in ob/gyn. After that, he spent a year working in emergency rooms. He started his residency in dermatology in 1985, and finished in 1988 at which time he founded Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center of Augusta. Dr. Kight is board certified in dermatology. He enjoys art, photography, music and motorcycles. After 27 years as a solo practitioner, he is very pleased to have Dr. Morgan Thakore as a partner in the practice.
